ResponderCalc - rad calculator Details

A tool to enable emergency responders to make radiation protection calculations using the inverse square law. ResponderCalc is a very simple tool to allow first responders to make quick ionising radiation dose, dose rate and safe stay time calculations based on readings from 'DIM' equipment. The app is aimed at anyone who needs to quickly check that their existing radiation protection processes and plans are keeping their exposure ALARP, by comparing a measured dose rate with a projected dose rate at a different distance. This is based on a simple model ('inverse square law') to provide estimations of dose, dose rate and safe stay times. The results should be discussed with an expert (such as a Radiation Protection Adviser) before acting on these figures. This app was created to address a UK scenario, but the calculations are applicable anywhere.

What's new in ResponderCalc - rad calculator 1.2

Version 1.2: added a reachback email button and preformatted email. Version 1.1.1: added US flag and US 10 CFR Part 20 dose limits, moved email button right a little. Version 1.1: added union flag icon, changed 'u' to the proper 'μ' character, added 'or...' after stay times, made page 2 warning text smaller. To do: Need to address text clipping throughout, maybe a list picker for UK / US. What else would you like to see?
